Sasha’s Story was created to dramatise the issues facing children who have a parent sentenced to prison. The film was created for Choices Consultancy Agency for the 2022 Children of Prisoners Conference held a Plymouth University.
Choices Consultancy Service (Choices) is a not-for-profit voluntary run organisation that assists prisoners and their families through difficulties that may be incurred during their involvement in the criminal justice system.
For many families, relationships are put to the test when a member goes to prison. Support for these families is sparse. Family members may not feel that they can discuss their feelings and fears with people they know for fear of recriminations.
In collaboration with Choices Consultancy Services and Plymouth University, Time-Lock Productions created a dramatisation that is an accurate and informative representation, that depicts some of the issues faced. Shot on location using internal and external shoots, this production is freely available to view from the Choices website.
